Happy New Year, and please excuse my absence of updates! With the pandemic safety protocols ever fluctuating, performance cancellations have been unfortunately frequent, but I am happy to announce that my piano trio from Shenandoah Conservatory, called the REM Trio, has been selected as one of the finalists for the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition.
Along with the trio’s violinist, Rachel Zhao, and pianist, Minji Lee, we will record the Fauré and Shostakovich Piano Trios in the coming weeks to submit to this year’s virtual edition of the competition. Wish us luck!
(As the trio’s unofficial resident sound engineer, I am also excited to test out some new microphone modifications I’ve played around with over the holiday season.)
